He gets very candid about the wild behind the scenes culture of Homicide and talks about his relationships with co-stars that included Richard Belzer, Andre Braugher, and Yaphet Kotto.
It holds up remarkably well. The show is streaming in the US on Peacock and will be available locally pretty soon (is my understanding... I'll share more on that when I can).
Great interview! thanks for asking everything I wanted to ask but didn't dare. I loved that you talked about Kyle's career after Homicide, because it always bothered me why we didn't see him in more leading roles. He's so talented and could easily lead a show like Breaking Bad for example. It was interesting to get Kyle's perspective on it.
This was a great interview to watch. I got a chance to feel what it must have been like to be on set with other actors in a period where the actors did whatever it took to get the job done. It is truly a miracle that all of you guys survived the long hours and go hang out and drink and party around and do it all over again. Man, thank God you found your way to being sober. I can understand the walk to true mental health healing and finally being grateful for each day to be alive. Thank you for sharing your true self and talking about real life. We need to hear more stories from people about how they have overcome challenges in the world. Stay the course. You are doing great work.
A real pleasure doing this interview. Some great questions and so grateful for your inquisitive nature and love of television! Cheers!
Great interview Dan! I only watched Homicide.. casually when I caught it late on Channel 7 - might be time for an intentional rewatch
