The Conners will return amid a sea of reality shows

Is a mostly-reality schedule the future for what most broadcast TV will look like?

With continued good ratings, it wasn’t a huge surprise that Roseanne sequel series The Conners will be back for a 6th season. The US ABC network gave the sitcom a 13-episode order with an option for 9 more - the rubbery greenlight likely to provide some optionality around how many episodes can be produced due to the writers strike currently underway.
